The standardization process is another point of interest so let’s look at what the ZigBee Alliance organizes for that. When the activities of the ZigBee Alliance are scrutinized, it is noticed that there are three types of activities related with the standards. These three types are industry events, member meetings and webinars. Conferences, EXPOs, forums, exhibitions and similar activities are industry events of the ZigBee Alliance. Industry events are arranged in different continents over the world. During these events, ZigBee technology meets the audience who are not member of the ZigBee Alliance. Individuals may have the chance to learn more about ZigBee and get inspirations. Member meetings are, as it is sensed from the name, only open to the members of the alliance. However, there are three types of membership: adopter, participant and promoter; and only participants and promoter are allowed to attend those meetings. Adopters have the rights to use the logo of the alliance, participate in interoperability events and access to standard deliverables. Member meetings are held at different times in different cities due to the fact that the alliance has members from various locations. The alliance also organizes on-demand webinars. Some of those webinars are open to public and some of them are only for the members. During the webinars, the attendants could listen and observe the discussions between experts on the technology.
